Winner of an Orchid Award in 2016, this UCSD Spanos Training Facility project consisted of the renovation/expansion of approximately 5,458 s.f. interior and 4,478 s.f. exterior patio, achieving LEED Gold. In the large training room, the high bay fixtures are equipped with high efficacy LED source which is key to provide the appropriate illumination and lighting distribution. A perfect balance encompassing the fixture selection for that application, ultimate mounting height, and efficient spacing between fixtures and rows. The lighting system provides 30FC at 30” AFF evenly throughout the space. The lighting system Light Power Density value is equal to 0.165 watt per square foot, which is 83% better than the Title 24 allowance for that space.
